Back onto the horse!

I'm still struggling to get myself out of my slump. And I've even been debating stopping quilting altogether, but I don't think that that's really an option if I want to maintain any type of sanity.

So, I've made up my mind to not cancel a quilting meeting that I originally planned to host and then considered cancelling for lack of drive and energy. There will only be one person and she's never quilted before but I figure that's just as well because we can potter around together and get me started on a new project. Which takes me to the informational core of this post: one of my new projects:

Turning Twenty by Tricia Cribbs (Photo taken from the Fatquartershop.com)

I'm not going to stick to the pattern precisely, partially because I don't have anything other than an A4 print out of the cover photo), partially because I'm not all that good at following rules and instructions.

So I will whip out my rose patterned fabric and get to work on this (maybe I should wash it first, yikes!).

Awsome idea to just "figure" the pattern on your own - I do that quite frequently. I can't wait to see your results! As far as washing fabrics - who says you have to first - I don't. Some of my first projects were washed; when I was part of swaps - but now I don't wash - I find it easier to cut/sew with it unwashed. So unless there is a medical reason for you to wash the fabric - I say leave it as is and save some time and hassle!

This is the perfect quilt to get you out of a slump. It is easy the pieces are large - no triangles. It should fly together. I have yet to make one myself. However, I know quilters that have made several.

Have fun!

You go girl! You can get past this slump, been there done that myself. A new quilting friend is exactly what you need to get you excited again.

You know - I sew TONS of tops all winter, but once the weather is nice, I like to be outside, gardening, walking, etc. It's a nice break and by fall I am ready to get back to my quilting - it is like a cycle. So, sometimes a little time off is a good thing.

Cheers!

Just dropping by to say hi! Sorry about the slump, it looks like you are pulling yourself out of it. Neat pictures! I wouldn't have washed fabric squares either. I love your fabrics - looks like it will be a really nice quilt.
