Quilt and crafts shopping in Northern Michigan

We will be travelling to the Greater Traverse City area up by the Lakes in Michigan this summer and I want to stock up on quilt and crafts supplies, especially on stuff I cannot get in Germany.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Don't be afraid to plug your own shop if you come across my post!

I am bringing a LARGE empty sports bag that wants to return home filled with goodies ;-)

dorothee,

you had asked about the pins. I used curved basting pins. they are avaliable at some Wal-Mart stores and at JoAnn Fabrics (among other places). Have fun shopping and filling your bag!

I visit Traverse City several times a year. My favorite shops are: Quilt-N-Bee (quiltnbee.com) and Material Girl Quilt Shop in Traverse City, Liberty Quilt Shop in Cedar (libertyquilt.com), and The Quilt Cottage in East Jordan (thequiltcottage.net). Traverse City is a beautiful place to visit...have fun and fill that extra bag!

I have been at several shops up there, but don't know the names. Take a chance on any in the phone book!
The area is beautiful.

There is a really great quilt shop just east of Traverse City on M72 - Renee's House of Quilting. She specializes in Orientals, and has some beautiful samples for ideas
